    Who We Are

Para Los Niños, a non-profit organization, based in La Paz, Bolivia has the following mission:

  • To enhance the quality of life and environment of abandoned children in Bolivia;
  • To maximize, but not replace, the local government support and enhance and coordinate international and local support;
  • To support SEDEGES Hogar Virgen de Fatima, a state-run orphanage in La Paz, which houses between 60 and 90 children from newborn babies to 6 years old.) With a parental perspective, we hope to help the staff in the hogar (the children's home) to look after the children's interest in areas of health, education, social and emotional development.
  • Our aim for 2005 is to extend this help to other orphanages in the La Paz area. Read more

Para los Niños (PLN) has legal status in Bolivia and works in close cooperation with SEDEGES (Servicio Departemental de Gestion Social), of the Prefectura of La Paz. Read more about how we help

PLN has a small office within the one of the children's homes (hogares) in La Paz, where the secretary/administrator works every morning and oversees practical dealings with the Hogar. These include helping with those needs that are not covered by the local government such as medicines, medical tests, school supplies, gas, and small maintenance work.

Throughout the year, PLN sells Christmas cards designed by the children!
